Gossip Girl Kirjat Biography
Welcome to New York's Upper East side where the wealthy and connected mingle at benefits and try to deal with their always dramatic love lives, not to mention picking colleges. Blair Waldorf is the so-called toast of adolescence in her world; she and her friends, Kati Farkas and Isabel Coates, go to a prep school and fancy parties with their rich parents. Blair is envied by her adversaries because she is thought to have the perfect life, not just because of her gorgeous boyfriend, Nate Archibald, but because she's also planning on getting into her dream college, Yale. With everyone worried about college(or procrastinating on worrying, which everyone seems to be doing), and senior year dragging along, her seemingly perfect life is interrupted by her ex-best friend, the beautiful Serena van der Woodsen, coming back into town after getting kicked out of boarding school. Serena comes back into her life... Written by Jessica Cymerman
Gossip Girl-the show that gets everyone talking. The show I would never let my child watch. I have to admit, I was hooked a season or so but then it became so pathetic. You have Blair who is such a buthead (you and I both know that's not what I was going to say-but rules are rules) and who would destroy (so to speak) anyone that gets in her way. I would want my kid just like her! I was being as sarcastic as one can get when I said that. Then you have Serena who doesn't know how to make up her mind about which guy she should chose so she sleeps with them all. It's just a really messed up show. I thought it was a bit entertaining at first but then I finally woke up and thought to myself, 'wow, I could be doing so much better with my time'. This is, of course, my opinion and there are people who like these kinds of shows and I totally respect that. There's just so much drama in this show, so much sex, so much affairs going on and I really think that the this generation should stay far away from shows like this, heck, any generation for that matter. Not to mention this show has a pointless plot that makes no sense whatsoever. Who knows, maybe it'll make sense seasons and seasons from now but I am most definitely not going to stick around and find out. Don't get me wrong, there are some positive things about this show. The acting is great! Some of my favorite actors are apart of this show. I am so happy for a bunch of these actors too because they're talent is finally noticed and now they can have their time in the spotlight. I'm hoping that this show will change but in the meanwhile, I'll stick with watching something else. Something exciting. Something that will keep me wanting more.
The novel that started the series, Gossip Girl, was published in paperback format in April 2002.[2] Two new novels were released annually until the final novel, Don't You Forget About Me, was released in May 2007, showing the main characters graduating from high school and moving on to college and other pursuits.[3] A prequel novel, It Had To Be You, was released in October 2007 in hardcover and electronic book format. It detailed the events that occurred a year before the first novel.[4] A box set containing the eleven novels of the series and the prequel novel, in paperback format, was released November 1, 2009.[5] Two days later, a sequel novel, I Will Always Love You was released. The hardcover book tells the story of the main characters returning home from college for the holidays.[6] Hachette Group re-released all of the original novels in electronic book format between 2008 and 2009.[7]
Books nine, ten and eleven of the main series were ghostwritten.[8][9]
In December 2009, Yen Press announced that it was working with Korean artist Baek Hye-Kyung to create a manga adaptation of the series titled Gossip Girl: For Your Eyes Only. Rather than adapting the original novels, however, the graphic novels will feature original stories with the same characters. It will be serialized in the company's anthology magazine Yen Plus, with the first chapter appearing in the January 2010 issue.[10]
In 2011, the parody novel Gossip Girl: Psycho Killer was scheduled for release in October.
